The ED-HMI2220 is an advanced industrial human-machine interface (HMI) device designed for robust performance and flexibility in industrial automation and control systems. This device is based on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, featuring a powerful Broadcom BCM2711 processor. This quad-core Cortex-A72 CPU operates at 1.5GHz, providing substantial computational power for a wide array of applications.

The ED-HMI2220 offers various memory configurations, with options for 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM, and several storage options including 0GB, 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB eMMC, with the added flexibility of micro-SD card support. For wireless connectivity, the device can be equipped with 4G/LTE, dual-band WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.0, making it a versatile choice for applications requiring remote connectivity.

This HMI device comes with three Gigabit Ethernet ports, ensuring high-speed wired network connectivity, an HDMI Type A port for high-definition video output, and a combination of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports for peripheral connections. The power input is designed to accommodate a wide range of DC voltages from 9V to 36V, with built-in protection against reverse polarity, overvoltage, and overcurrent.

The ED-HMI2220 is available in two screen sizes: a 7-inch model (HMI2220-070C) and a 10.1-inch model (HMI2220-101C), both featuring a capacitive multi-touch screen for intuitive control. These screens offer a high resolution, a wide range of colors, and excellent luminance, ensuring clear and vibrant displays. The viewing angles are also generous, providing good visibility from various directions.


The device is enclosed in a high-quality metal case, suitable for embedded front installation, and is designed to operate in a wide temperature range from -20°C to 60°C. This makes the ED-HMI2220 suitable for diverse industrial environments. The device also includes a hardware watchdog, EEPROM, crypto authentication, and an optional supercapacitor backup power supply for added reliability.

Additional features of the ED-HMI2220 include an RTC with a CR1220 battery backup, a buzzer for alarms, and multiple LED indicators for power and system status. The device supports the Raspberry Pi OS in various versions and includes a built-in 8-megapixel front camera option for applications that require imaging capabilities.
